SALVATION

Do you want to have Heaven as your eternal home?  God wants you to be in Heaven with Him.  However, there is a:

Problem – Sin.

Romans 3:23,For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

This verse tells us we are ALL sinners. It doesn’t matter what your position is in life, how much money you make, how big your house is, or who you know. We all have a problem with sin.

Penalty – Death.

Romans 6:23,For the wages of sin is death.”

This verse explains the payment or wages of sin is death; eternal separation from God.

Provision – Substitution.

Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Christ died for us. He paid the penalty for our sin! When He died on the cross and arose three days later, He not only defeated the grave, but provided us a way to Heaven. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

You cannot work or earn your way into Heaven.

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Promise – Salvation.

Romans 10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be savedFor with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Romans 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

In order to be saved one must realize that they are a hell deserving sinner.  This person must confess with their mouth (to God) and believe in their heart (not the mind/intellect) that God hath raised Christ from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4, "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Person - Jesus Christ is Salvation:

1 John 5:11-12, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
Examples of those who were saved in the Bible:
Acts 8:36-37, "And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?  And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
Acts 16:30-31, "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Luke 12:39-43, "And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?  And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.  And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Permanence – Security.

John 10:28-29,And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.”

Once you are saved, you can never lose your salvation!

Personal Question - If you died today would you go to Heaven or Hell?

John 6:37, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
